Images: In Context! Feature Description: Red Eye Remover
The Red-Eye Remover removes the dreaded glowing red (and sometimes white
or green) eyes that show up when the flash from a camera bounces off of the back
of the eye, toward the camera. Removing red-eye is a simple process with Images:
In Context!™.
First, move the selection rectangle so that it
encompasses only the irises of the subject (Note: for difficult images, work on
each eye in two seperate passes)
Next, select a color from the eye. The
easiest way to do this is to drag the eyedropper to the right, and drop it
directly over the red color of the eye.
Finally, begin moving the
Saturation slider down, slowly. This will desaturate the selected and sampled
area, removing the red eye. Watch out for discoloration. If you see the skin
around the area beginning to turn green, you've reached the limit for that
image, bring the saturation back up so that the green disappears and save the
image. If you cannot completely remove the red-eye without desaturating the
skin, work only on one eye to reduce the sample area, save the image, then work
on the second eye.
